Diversity plays a major role in A1 Telekom Austria Group’s strategy. By having signed the Charter of Diversity, A1 Telekom Austria Group publicly commits to utilising and preserving the wide range of cultural strengths, traditions and skills in its seven subsidiaries in Central and Eastern Europe. The equality of genders is a fixed principle in all its activities.
The Group pursues the goal of establishing equality of opportunities in all its activities. In the framework of a voluntary self-commitment, A1 Telekom Austria Group’s rate of women in total as well as in management positions has been gradually increased to 35% until the end of 2015. This target was reached by means of several Group-wide initiatives and measures. Special programmes aimed at promoting women in technical occupations, flexible work time models, child care initiatives and – above all – through a focus on women in the recruiting and talent management process, contribute to this goal being reached. By 2018, the rate of women in management positions is supposed to rise to 38%.
A1 Telekom Austria Group’s subsidiaries help working parents with special offers and facilities. Bulgarian Mobiltel, Serbian Vip mobile and Croatian Vipent, for instance, by offering kindergartens. In Austria, A1 offers its employees an innovative, free child care service for children between the ages of three and twelve on school-free days, holidays directly preceding or following weekends and school holidays in the form of the Flying Nannies by University of Vienna’s Children's Office.
